By Jairo Bonilla. To execute musical works while interpreting many instruments, this is the nature of my craft and just to be frank, I can play or interpret, imitate or mimic any musical melody or body of music, on almost any acoustic instrument, meaning while using the actual physical instrument, as I can interpret many instruments mainly up right pianos and countless wind instruments from the East as well as from the Western Hemisphere. The listening to of any musical work while synchronizing a justifiable interpretation of that, or of any musical work in any one of many acoustic instruments, such as piano, such as countless wind instruments, is this ability which has taken me many years to perfect and naturally achieve. The ability of having Perfect Hearing, is widely known among music buffs, composers as well as connoisseurs or aficionados as well as all initiated to the world of classical music in point of fact, is this ability is called, “absolute ear” also known as “absolute hearing.,” Which actually, is very uncommon and a rarity to have or possess, while anyone can certainly train to be a musician or a pianist, not every musician has this gift from the Music-God which I, should point out that this term is often confused by another term in the World of, Classical Music, and should not be confused with the term known as “perfect pitch,” which distinguishes musicians and aficionados alike. Which in point of fact, is something totally different all together. Secondly most accordingly, Perfect pitch is when a Vocalist, also known as a singer, can actually hit the note on the mark sort of speak, all the time, every time upon singing while never modulating the note or melody sharp or flat. In other words the vocalist while performing never goes off pitch while singing, which is what all composers and conductors love to look out for in performer or soloist artist. While I am not a trained vocalist, I have worked with such singers that have this wonderful ability, as I do as well only difference is my voices are the many instruments I have mastered over the years mostly self taught, with the acceptation of the Piano, and I did have a classical up-bringing, not so much in the glamor of the idea of a classical upbringing but more to the effect of the hard work and discipline that constitutes to the mastering of any instrument. I grew up hearing both terms of “Perfect ear” or “Absolute ear,” used interchangeably among my many teachers, or classical music professors, the phrase is often used mainly in music Institutes with teachers in the music or Art world, my music mentors, in the art and discipline of classical-music used this term very wisely and very seldom but not with me and I say that honestly and most humbly. More over quite honestly, I do remember many of my teachers claiming me as their prodigy even before becoming their student. This was an honor as I did embrace this idea with much humility while honoring the pursuit of interpreting beautiful inspirational music mostly through Piano as the ultimate prize to a newly discovered musician that I was at fourteen years of age. Now more than 15 years later, I do compose my won melodies as well as practice daily, several instruments and listen to a variety of music not only classical. In resent years I rediscovered the many bodies of musical interpretations as well as original Mexican Classical Music Composers. By Jairo Bonilla
