Dictator on the Roof: Golf, Hubris, and Maple Diplomacy

🕶️ Dictator on the Roof: A Parable in Par-3

He stood above the republic—not in spirit, but literally, on the roof.

A red-striped tie flapping like a warning flag in the wind.

Below, democracy tiptoed through tulips.

Above, he practiced his backswing.

The press corps squinted skyward, unsure if this was performance art or a coup in cleats.

“Is he… golfing?” whispered one intern, clutching a mic like a rosary.

“Yes,” said the Canadian ambassador, sipping maple tea. “It’s our gift. Richness and magic. You’re welcome.”

The dictator grinned, teeing up a metaphor.

He drove the ball into the horizon—

A perfect arc of denial,

Landing somewhere near the Department of Justice.

And thus, the roof became legend.

Not for its shingles, but for the swing.

Not for its height, but for the hubris.
