A Win for the Economist and the International Community: The End of Unilateral Economic Rule

By Jay: Vigilant Observer and Independent Analyst

For months, we here at NYC Falcon and my blog America the Beautiful have been the vigilant observers, keeping a steady eye on the shifting tides of our nation’s economy and the unprecedented expansion of executive reach. We have tracked the data, listened to the markets, and waited for the constitutional dust to settle. Today, we celebrate an extraordinary development—a definitive victory for the Rule of Law, the global economy, and the American consumer.

On February 20, 2026, the United States Supreme Court delivered a historic rebuke in V.O.S. Selections, Inc. v. Trump. This 6-3 ruling, authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, didn’t just strike down the “Liberation Day” tariffs; it restored the fundamental integrity of our Republic. The Return to Trilateral Governance

Our system of governance is built on a trilateral foundation: the Executive, the Judicial, and the Legislative. They are equal, separate, and designed to run in their own lanes. For too long, we watched as the executive branch attempted to merge those lanes, asserting a power of taxation that the Constitution explicitly reserves for the people’s representatives in Congress.

As this ruling proves: No one is above the law. The President does not have the inherent power to levy broad-based taxes on the American people under the guise of an “emergency.” The Court has made it clear: the power to “regulate” under the 1977 IEEPA is not a “backdoor” to overhaul the nation’s entire tariff schedule.

Why This is a Win for Everyday Americans and the World

The “Liberation Day” tariffs were, in reality, a massive consumption tax. Their removal is a breath of fresh air for a global community. Here is why this decision matters for you:

  • Lowering the Cost of Living: Dismantling these duties directly attacks the “hidden tax” on groceries and electronics.
  • Saving Manufacturing Jobs: This ruling stops the bleeding for American factories that rely on global inputs.
  • Restoring Market Certainty: Businesses can now invest without fear of rules changing on a whim.
  • Protecting the “Power of the Purse”: Ensures only elected representatives can levy taxes.
  • Reclaiming Global Leadership: Signals that the U.S. is a nation of laws, not volatile edicts.

A Pivot Toward Technological Prosperity

While the administration promised a “manufacturing boom” through protectionism, the reality was a cooling economy and a 101% debt-to-GDP ratio. The true path forward—as we have discussed here on the blog—lies in productivity-led growth and AI integration. The Supreme Court has cleared the hurdles, allowing the economy to move toward sustainable innovation.

The Power of Unity: Keeping Our Eyes on the November Prize

Jay

Hello, and welcome. If you haven’t met me or are new to this community, my name is Jay. I’m an independent activist out of Manhattan, a professional videographer, the columnist behind this growing platform, a surface pattern designer, and a classically trained pianist teaching piano right here in the city. I want to take a moment to celebrate a recent victory with all of you: our latest video deep-dive has officially gone mini-viral, climbing from 7,000 to nearly 9,000 views in just a few days. As a videographer, my goal is always to take the most pressing, sometimes appalling, events happening around our country and elevate them so the public can identify and understand the truth. Your engagement is making that happen.

The holidays are behind us, the new year is moving fast, and as we navigate this Valentine’s February, we have hit the ground running. We are everyday folks—families, workers, and educators. It is incumbent upon us to adhere to our shared values and spread a message of true patriotism. True patriotism is the love of democracy and freedom, not the embrace of an oligarchy. That is why we must use clear language: what we are witnessing is not a presidential administration, but a brutal regime. An administration administers; a regime destroys. This current leadership is unprecedented in its assault on our norms and unpresidential in every sense of the word.

I established our core activist groups in December 2024 to cultivate a cohesive, like-minded unit. My message to you then, as it is now, is that we must keep our eye on the prize: the November midterm elections. While presidential elections happen every four years, the midterms dictate the control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. We are waiting for Hakeem Jeffries to take the position of Speaker of the House this November. Once that happens, we will have the numbers needed to write the articles of impeachment—the vital first step to removing a president who continues to break new, dangerous ground.

I started America The Beautiful in 2016 because I was appalled by the atrocities I saw. As a Mexican man born on this continent, raised and educated here, who knows his history, I could not stay silent. I saw too many of my Latino brothers and sisters hauled away in cuffs, victims of brutal treatment within the confines of ICE facilities. Now, with a year of this 2026 reality behind us, we are seeing a repeat—and an escalation—of those 2016 horrors. There is a rapid destruction of our institutions, which is why the peaceful protests and marches that have filled American streets since 2020 remain so vital.

My purpose here is to be a voice for the voiceless and a resource for Spanish speakers and all everyday people who may not know the law. It is crucial to teach our community their rights: even as a non-citizen, a person has the right to an attorney and to be judged by a jury of their peers.

I invite you to stay vigilant and informed. Continue to spread love, unity, and awareness. I also want to share a piece of my own joy with you all: I am now officially integrating my passion for sacred geometry and surface pattern design into this space, and my artwork is available for you to check out and support.

Whatever your level of ability, we meet everyone where they are. Get involved. Call your elected officials, join a picket line, or take up online activism and write a blog like I do. Let’s keep growing this community and fighting for the beautiful America we know is possible.

Here is the receipt! They didn’t just come for Don Lemon today; they’ve been purging the real journalists for years.

  • Don Lemon: Ousted by CNN to appease right-wing pressure, and now arrested by the state just for holding a camera.
  • Mehdi Hasan: Canceled by MSNBC because his tough questioning of foreign policy made corporate sponsors sweat.
  • Brian Stelter: Fired by CNN in 2022 in a desperate, failed bid to satisfy bad-faith conservative critics.
  • Tiffany Cross: Her contract was slashed the second right-wing media targeted her unapologetic focus on race and justice.
  • John Harwood: Exited CNN abruptly moments after he told the truth and called Donald Trump a “demagogue” on live TV.
  • Roland Martin: Had to leave cable constraints because corporate editors kept trying to dilute his coverage of systemic racism.
  • Keith Olbermann: Left the mainstream years ago so he could critique the rising authoritarianism without a network muzzle.
Wake up. Journalism is now a crime.
